In the article Are You in Self Alignment? How Can You Tell? I invited you to engage in an activity to help you discover events in your past that may have pulled you out of alignment with who you are. In this article, we’ll use that exercise in addition to discussing what else you can do to reclaim your alignment between life and business.
Alignment begins with identifying what the top most important things to you are in your life. You can’t be in alignment if you do not first know what you stand for and what you are about. Otherwise, what will you be aligning with?
In the previous article, we discussed intuition as an important element in bringing alignment to your life. Intuition is what I call a spiritual connection. It is vital in helping you discover what the top most important things to you are in your life. So let’s explore below five ways to bring alignment.

How can you create alignment in your life and business?

  1. Sharpen your intuition and practice tuning in often
  2. Identify events in your past or present that stop you
  3. Take back your power from those events or people that stop you
  4. Incorporate your top five passions as a part of your business as much as possible
  5. Make all choices and decisions from what’s important to you and from your intuition

1. Sharpen your intuition

While we were all led to tune into our practical, reasoning brain, the intuitive side is the final gauge, all things considered, that points us in the direction of success. Intuition is the process of connecting with your feelings about what’s right or not right for you, or about what decisions are good and not so good to be made in your business. It is a spiritual process.
Success in business and life requires this connection to avoid costly mistakes. It’s that gut sense, which you may or may not have paid attention to over the course of time that gives you a hunch about how things may turn out. For sure, it’s hardly scientific, according to standards of scientific measures we’ve come to accept. Yet, so much data exists about others who’ve been successful in using intuition to arrive at sound and profitable decisions.
One such is a data is reported in Harvard Business Review with 21 successful CEOs who confirmed that intuition or gut, played the biggest role in their success in business decision-making. Though in this study, the respondents’ decision making abilities were more reliable when experience was coupled with intuition, one can hardly reason that intuition is completely irrelevant. All successful entrepreneurs and leaders agree that a gut feeling drives the direction of their final choices.
To further make this point, a few other successful entrepreneurs agree:
“…both the visionary co-founder of Apple (Steve Jobs) and the most influential physicist of the 20th century (Albert Einstein) agree that one trait was at the heart of their success: intuition.”
“…the more we can tune in to our intuition, the better off we are. I believe it’s how God speaks to us. Learning to trust your instincts, using your intuitive sense of what’s best for you, is paramount for any lasting success. It’s really more of a feeling than a voice—a whispery sensation that pulsates just beneath the surface of your being… I’ve trusted the still, small voice of intuition my entire life. And the only time I’ve made mistakes is when I didn’t listen.” Oprah Winfrey
“Intuition is a very powerful thing…more powerful than intellect.” Steve Jobs, CNBC
The benefit of developing a stronger intuitive sense cannot be overstated.
So how can you sharpen that intuition?
It requires focus and meditative, quietness to help connect. Then practice is needed to fine-tune and trust the connection. Over time, the more you practice, the more natural it becomes, until you habitually make choices by listening to your internal voice, your intuition.
At first, it may be hard to tell. But you can literally do trial runs on areas that won’t be as impactful, to see how results end up when you take the cue. It gets better over time.

2. Identify events in your past or present that stop you

The activity at the end of this article Are You in Self Alignment? How Can You Tell? will help you to figure this out. Read the article, then do the exercises in preparation for the next step.

3. Take back your power from those events or people that stop you

This symbolic, yet powerful exercise, helps you gradually regain what you have lost. Whether it is self-confidence, self-esteem, belief in your ability to achieve or loss of fears, all of these are possible to be achieved by walking back through time, and symbolically confronting, within the safety and quietude of your mind visualizations, the people or events that stopped you. You take your power back.
When done with focus, the impact of this exercise is in the visualization and emotions that you’re able to conjure up while doing it. Because the brain is not aware of your reality from your imagination, the experiences and the emotions become real, causing the shift to occur. Setting the right intentions for each episode is necessary for increased impact. Also focus only on the new emotion-generating results that you’d like to have (from having gained self-confidence, increased power, etc.).
The activity requires confronting each situation, one-at-a-time, before moving on to the next.

4. Incorporate your top 5 passions as a part of business as much as possible

Important areas of your life to really focus on when you are bringing awareness to these areas can be found in this article What the Heck to Do About Finding Your Passions? . It’s also great to access the Magic Money MatrixTM at the end of this article: How to Live Your Passions Without Quitting Your Business or Career to help you generate ideas for tweaking your business, or even for starting a new one.
Another area for enhancing self-alignment is in your branding. Though your business has a definite product or service that you offer, your brand is all about you and how you communicate what you have to offer uniquely. No one else has all of the same exact qualities like you do. Consider aligning your brand to who you are.

5. Make all choices and decisions from what’s important to you and from your intuition

The biggest benefit of alignment is the Peace, Power and Profits® it brings to your life. This can certainly be realized when you have a system for arriving at your choices and decisions. It makes it foolproof, and with consistency, soon everyone around you learns the system which makes your life so much more profitable.
When opting to commit to any requests or decisions, keeping in mind the top most important things to you in life, will help you choose so you can continue to feel peace. Always choose in favor of what’s important to you, your passions.
By taking this a step further, once your intuition is completely aligned, you’ll also begin to have clear boundaries that can be communicated to your employees, co-workers or those in your personal life. It makes communication and expectations much clearer, and you tend to see the results that you want much quicker than if you were out of alignment.
Reinforcing those boundaries often will help you stay aligned so your life and business can more easily flow to bring you what you want.
I invite you to have a clarity session with me to discover how you can become more closely aligned to help you increase your efficiency towards more Peace, Power and Profits® and to create increased satisfaction for those responsible for creating your mission.
