I know that you’re not among the group who has already abandoned their New Year’s Resolution. At least that’s what I’m hoping. 🙂

There are just too many people who’ve quit on their goals just because they’ve given into their feelings. Feelings are really important. They give you signals about  how you feel about something, whether or not something is good for you, or when you need to take a break to resuscitate your body, mind and spirit.
It’s important to have regular breaks scheduled not just during your day, but also during the week. Personally, I have scheduled breaks each week when I go at a completely different pace. I find that it’s necessary to keep me mentally sharp. There are times, however, when despite any break I’ve taken, my body demands that I take more. In those moments, I pay attention and I listen or I bear the consequences of illness.
Those kinds of feelings are important to pay attention to. There are times, however, when feelings clearly do not warrant paying attention to, such as when we are just downright feeling lazy, or simply not feeling up to a task. In those moments, commitment and integrity play a huge role. What you do in those instances will greatly determine the kinds of results you get in your life. The frequency with which we give into those feelings can tell a story about where were are in life and our satisfaction with what we’ve achieved.
Giving into those feelings especially when they are frequent and dominate dominate most of your day, week or month will present a huge problem with your success and confidence too. You will almost never be feeling confident about being able to achieve what you say you are going to do.
Pay attention. Is your ‘warning sign’ or feelings of wanting to take a break coming with too much frequency? Look at your results over time to get a feel for your pattern. Do you typically accomplish the things in your life that you say you would? That may be a cue to do something different when those feelings arise.

It’s important to know that your feelings can be amazingly helpful signals to your health and well-being. If you cannot decipher the difference there is a strong possibility that the results you are getting in your life right now are not satisfactory to you. You may tend to procrastinate and put off things that need to get done continuously.
